NEW CANAAN’S BRAVEST LOG OVER 4000 HOURS IN TRAINING

On the second Thursday of every month the members of the New Canaan Fire Company gather at fire headquarters for the monthly business meeting. Meeting protocol has each line officer give a status report. Car 2 Assistant Chief Karl gives his report on training and call response statistics. In this months meeting he reported some very exciting and noteworthy news. Since January 1st the members of our department Career and Volunteer have completed 4072 hours of training 788 of those hours in the month of May. Training consists of drills and on shift training driver training and classes for state and national certification. Training hours are recorded using Firehouse software that logs call statistics member responses and training hours. Special thanks to Assistant Chief Jack Hennessey and Ed Karl on working to get our training hours logged and in the system.
