MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT W/EXTRICATION SHUTS DOWN NB SIDE OF PARKWAY

At 1251 Fire and EMS units were dispatched to route 15 northbound at exit 36 for the motor vehicle accident requiring extrication. Car 1 Car 2 Engine 4 and Rescue 5 were responding within 2 minutes. While en route units were advised to get on the wrong way at exit 36 and head south in the northbound lanes. State Police were on scene and had the northbound side of the highway shutdown. Car 1 was the first fire unit on scene and established route 15 command he reported a two car MVA with one person pinned and a fluid spill. Engine 4 and Rescue 5 worked together to complete a full side removal. Total extrication time was 7 minutes. After the rescue was complete units controlled the fluid spill and mitigated all other hazards. Car 1 and Engine 4 returned to service a short time later while Car 2 and Rescue 5 remained on scene until the car was removed by the wrecker. All NCFC units cleared the scene in approximately 1 hour.
