CAR HITS TREE HEAD ON

As firefighters were relaxing after finishing up weeks of cleaning and preparing the firehouse and fire trucks for the Towns Memorial Day Parade crews were alerted to a motor vehicle accident with injurys at the intersection of North Wilton rd and Michigan rd. E4 R5 and Unit 64CAR2 responded with 8. E4 arrived on scene and reported he had one car into a tree with the tree on top of the car and all occupants out of the vehicle. Due to EMS being delayed because of another call in town Firefighters from E4 began patient care of the driver and prepared the patient for transport. Crews from R5 and unit 64 began to cut the tree to gain better access to the vehicle. Once access was gained firefighters disconnected the battery and applied speedy dry to fluids on the ground. Firefighters operated for 45 minutes before returning to service. Car2 had North Wilton rd command. Pictures coming soon.
