GARAGE FULLY INVOLVED ON ARRIVAL

At 1237 New Canaan Fire units were dispatched to a garage fire next to 910 Smith Ridge rd. Car 1 arrived to find a large 3-bay garage fully involved with extension to a landscaping truck. Multiple explosions were coming from within the structure. Arriving Engine 1 laid in from the street and set up for defensive operations. Mutual aid was requested from Vista and South Salem for their tankers as this was an area of town that did not have hydrants. Wilton FD was also on scene for manpower and Noroton Heights was called in for station coverage. Over the next 3 hours crews dumped over 9000 gallons of water to bring the fire under control. NCFD units on scene-Engine1 Engine2 Ladder3 Tanker8 Rescue5 and Utility1. Car 1 had Smith Ridge command.
